Marc Garman began his work shooting vintage and antique film cameras; an anomaly in the digital age. When he took the leap into digital video a lot of the old lenses came along. Vintage glass contributes to the organic look seen in much of his work. Running The Vallejo Independent Bulletin, a community news blog has built experience with field shooting and especially sound, not to mention keeping the technical stuff together under chaotic conditions. The challenge of creating a narrative story from a live event is one of his specialties. Political advertising and copy work has led into commercial work for other clients, producing, editing and directing television spots as well as longer form video work. Garman pays special attention to timing and rhythm in his editing work. Handling a message with the seriousness needed or the whimsy desired is something he understands in both words and images.
